🐞 Repetitively closing tabs will cause the application to hang

Description

When trying to close tabs quickly, the application will stop responding entirely.

(the application has not responded for more than 2 minutes)

To Reproduce

Open any number of tabs, and then close them quickly.

Expected behavior

The tabs should have closed as expected, even if it takes a few seconds for it to process.
