<ul><li> <b>March 2007:</b> An elementary Linux course by FarsiWeb for <a href="http://www.systemgroup.net/web/en/" class="external text" title="http://www.systemgroup.net/web/en/" rel="nofollow">System Group</a> technical staff was finished, with five of the participants achieving FarsiWeb’s Elementary Linux Certificate.
</li><li> <b>February 2007:</b> The High Council of Informatics published the Persian translation of <b>Open Source Software: Perspective for Development</b>. The book was originally published by <a href="http://www.worldbank.org/" class="external text" title="http://www.worldbank.org" rel="nofollow">the World Bank</a> and it helps information technology decision-makers in developing countries understand the dynamics of open source solutions. Free copies of the translated book are available at FarsiWeb office, and it can also be downloaded from <a href="http://fa.farsiweb.ir/mediawiki-fa/images/d/da/Infodev.pdf" class="external text" title="http://fa.farsiweb.ir/mediawiki-fa/images/d/da/Infodev.pdf" rel="nofollow">here</a>.
</li><li> <b>February 2007:</b> Sharif FarsiWeb released <a href="http://fa.farsiweb.ir/fawiki/School" class="external text" title="http://fa.farsiweb.ir/fawiki/School" rel="nofollow">Sharif Linux School Edition</a>. The first users of this edition would be Bam schools teachers and students.

<ul><li> <b>November:</b> The 3rd entrepreneurship festival was held from November 10th to 13th in Sharif University of Technology. Sharif FarsiWeb's stand in the exhibition held in the same event presented the companies activities including Sharif Linux distribution.
</li><li> <b>September:</b> Sharif FarsiWeb conducts three education courses on Linux operating system for <a href="http://www.systemgroup.net/" class="external text" title="http://www.systemgroup.net" rel="nofollow">System Group</a>'s developers, managers, and support team.
</li><li> <b>September:</b> Sharif Linux club now has a forum. This forum is a place for Sharif Linux club members to interact and for any discussion related to Sharif Linux.
</li><li> <b>July:</b> Sharif Linux Development Kit was released. Sharif Linux club members can have a free copy by post.
</li><li> <b>June:</b> OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 was released with Persian UI support. The UI translation has been done by Sharif FarsiWeb's translation team under the supervision of Meelad Zakaria. The support for Iranian locale data and issue reports have been done by Farzaneh Sarafraz from the Technical team.
</li><li> <b>June:</b> The twelfth electronic, computer, and e-commerce international fair is taking place from July 18th in Tehran. The stand of Sharif FarsiWeb, Inc. is on the second floor in Mabna hall.
</li><li> <b>June:</b> Behdad Esfahbod, a co-founder and shareholder of Sharif FarsiWeb, Inc., joins <a href="http://www.redhat.com/" class="external text" title="http://www.redhat.com/" rel="nofollow">Red Hat, Inc.</a> to continue the free software work that he started at FarsiWeb.
</li><li> <b>June:</b> The Tehran branch of <a href="http://www.shell.com/" class="external text" title="http://www.shell.com/" rel="nofollow">Shell Development Iran</a> completes the transition to <a href="Sharif_Linux.html" title="Sharif Linux">Sharif Linux</a>, and is now using the operating system on all of its computers, more than fifty desktops, laptops, and servers altogether. Shell uses a special customized version of Sharif Linux.
</li><li> <b>May:</b> The opening ceremony of <a href="Sharif_Linux.html" title="Sharif Linux">Sharif Linux 2</a> is held with more than 350 attendants including managers and administrators of governmental and commercial organizations, university professors, programmers and developers, journalists, and other enthusiasts.
</li><li> <b>May:</b> FarsiWeb announces that <a href="Sharif_Linux.html" title="Sharif Linux">Sharif Linux 2</a>, the first version of Sharif Linux to also include a completely Persian user interface, will be available on May 28, 2006. A ceremony and an introductory session will be held in <a href="http://www.sharif.edu/" class="external text" title="http://www.sharif.edu/" rel="nofollow">Sharif University of Technology</a> on the same day from 16:00 to 18:00 in the Jaber ibn Hayyan hall (<a href="http://www.sharif.ir/en/about/map.jsp" class="external text" title="http://www.sharif.ir/en/about/map.jsp" rel="nofollow">map’s item 1</a>).

</li><li> <b>September:</b> Persian support in the <a href="GNOME.html" title="GNOME">GNOME</a> desktop environment reaches the level of a “partially supported” language, using the contributions of FarsiWeb personnel and volunteer contributors. </li><li> FarsiWeb finishes adding support for recognition of Persian integer numbers in <a href="http://www.gnu.org/software/libc/libc.html" class="external text" title="http://www.gnu.org/software/libc/libc.html" rel="nofollow">GNU C libary</a>. The support is available in <a href="http://fedora.redhat.com/" class="external text" title="http://fedora.redhat.com/" rel="nofollow">Fedora Core</a> (3 or later), and several other GNU/Linux distributions.
</li><li> FarsiWeb has started a new study for determining the computer locale requirements of Iranian Azerbaijani language (ترکی آذربایجانی), as written in the Arabic script.
</li><li> FarsiWeb employs Meelad Zakaria as a full-time professional translator for translation of free software (specially the <a href="GNOME.html" title="GNOME">GNOME</a> desktop environment) into the Persian language. Mr Zakaria has published translations of literary works such as <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._D._Salinger" class="external text" title="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J. D. Salinger" rel="nofollow">J. D.
