Fourth Generation (2016-2018): The first RAV4 Hybrid generation was introduced as part of the fourth-generation RAV4 lineup. It featured a 2.5L four-cylinder engine combined with electric motors, producing a total system output of 194 hp. This model established Toyota's hybrid technology in the compact SUV segment, offering enhanced fuel efficiency while maintaining the practical nature of the RAV4.

Fifth Generation (2019-present): Built on Toyota's TNGA-K platform, the current generation RAV4 Hybrid brought significant improvements in performance and efficiency. The hybrid powertrain was upgraded with a more efficient 2.5L Dynamic Force engine and improved electric motors, delivering a combined 219 hp. This generation features enhanced rigidity, improved handling, and a more sophisticated AWD system. The interior received a complete redesign with upgraded materials and technology features. For the 2022 model year, Toyota introduced the RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid variant, offering 302 hp and an electric-only range of 42 miles.
